Legal notice

Impressum Prepared 6 September 2026 Last updated 12 October 2026

German law requires the provider of a website to state who is behind it, and to keep that statement easy to find, directly reachable and permanently available. Two separate rules apply here at the same time, and both are shown in section 6 in their original wording.

1 · Provider

§ 5 Abs. 1 Nr. 1 DDG · § 18 Abs. 1 MStV

The provider is a sole proprietorship. Name and postal address are required by both rules; there is no exemption for a site that is offered free of charge.

Name
Newlyt, Inhaber Georgios Karamanidis
Required verbatim by § 5 Abs. 1 Nr. 1 DDG (“den Namen”) and § 18 Abs. 1 Nr. 1 MStV.
Postal address
Hallerstraße 59
20146 Hamburg
Germany

2 · Contact

§ 5 Abs. 1 Nr. 2 DDG

The rule asks for details that permit fast electronic contact and direct communication, expressly including an electronic mail address.

Email
info@kapnagora.com
An address that is actually read. The contact form delivers to this same address, for anyone who prefers it to a mail client.

3 · Editorial responsibility

§ 18 Abs. 2 MStV

Responsible for editorial content
Georgios Karamanidis (Newlyt)
Address
Hallerstraße 59
20146 Hamburg
Germany

4 · What this site is, and what it is not

Kapnagora is a reference and knowledge project about cigars, with a focus on Cuban brands. Every figure and fact on this site carries its source and last-checked date. It documents published scholarship, dealer records and historical references, and does not sell or broker cigars. Authenticity of an individual item is not something this record can establish. Tobacco use carries health risks; nothing here is intended as an encouragement to consume it. 18+.

The market section shows recorded sales and dealer availability, with links to the original sources and dealer websites. Kapnagora does not sell or broker cigars and provides no shopping basket or checkout.

Consumer dispute resolution

§ 36 VSBG

We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

5 · Data protection

What this site does and does not do with visitors’ data is set out separately, with the measurement it is based on: Privacy statement →

6 · The rules this page is built on

Quoted in the original German, because the obligation is defined by that wording. Both rules apply at the same time; the second one is the reason the first cannot be avoided by offering the site free of charge.

§ 5 Abs. 1 DDG — Allgemeine Informationspflichten

Dezember 2025
Why both, and not just one § 5 DDG is tied to services offered “geschäftsmäßig, in der Regel gegen Entgelt”. § 18 Abs. 1 MStV has no such condition — it applies to everything that is not purely personal or familial. A public cigar database with market data is not personal or familial. There is therefore no route around the duty to state name and address by keeping the site free of charge.
